Goal:

  • Mobilize public support to preserve Amtrak’s long-distance service in 23 states, impacting 144.6M people who rely on rail for daily commutes.

Challenge:

  • Counter President Trump’s proposed budget, which would cut Amtrak service to 220+ communities with no transportation alternatives.

  • Protect thousands of TCU/IAM jobs and safeguard Railroad Retirement.

Action:

  • Organized nationwide rallies on June 23rd to pressure Congress.

  • Used targeted social media and outreach brochures to drive awareness.

  • Encouraged members to host rallies in their own communities.

Results:

  • National participation and increased awareness.

  • Unified message to Congress and the President: Amtrak stays.
